The Dream… The Red Ball!

facebooktwittermailby feather

OMG… Just had my first breakdown today!!! I knew it would be hard, but didn’t think it would start with over two weeks to go???😭😪😢Jesus take the wheel!!! In 19 days (September 7th), I will leave a BIG piece of my heart in Connecticut as MY Chris will begin writing the intro to a new chapter in his life! I am excited, sad, overjoyed, proud, thankful and blessed all at the same time! I sit here reminiscing about this one picture, I’m “balling” (play on words…lol) my eyes out as years of memories come to mind. It all began 18 years ago when MY Albert and I were blessed with our 2nd bundle of joy and we had a dream (The Red Ball) and within weeks, that dream became OUR Chris’ dream… At 6 months old, he got his first basketball goal (the big one) that evvvveryone said was too big. But MY Chris didn’t let that phase him. And 18 years later, through a lot of ups and downs, trials and tribulations, failures, let downs, setups, broken promises, setbacks, nonbelievers and naysayers, etc. He didn’t let the negativity define him, he stayed faithful and prayerful, hungry and humble and believing in God’s word and His promises! And today he continue to write HIS story and believe in himself! The pages of the last 18 years have been written and he can’t change them, but the pages of tomorrow are blank and he holds the pen… he’s dedicated, determined and promises to make it an amazing story! …”2 Points”, his testimony to come!

To MY Chris… Words can’t explain how much I truly love you and just how proud I am of you! And yes, your dad would be proud as well. Chris, you will always be “MY Baby… MY Chris!” You’ve weathered many storms and overcome many obstacles in your life — know that there will be plenty more. Stay prayerful and high on God’s word and His promises… Seek God’s guidance in every decision/situation… Ask, and it shall be given to you… Seek guidance in God’s word and you’re sure to find the right answers… Stay hungry and humble… Know that you’re where God planned for you to be, and He makes no mistakes… Work hard and always give it your all… Be patient and persistent… Learn from your successes, mistakes and failures… Surround yourself with loyal and faithful friends (young and old) who will encourage, inspire and bring out the best in you… Believe in yourself and let no one shatter, alter or change your dream(s)… Learn something new everyday… Let no one tell you that the sky is the limit when there are footprints on the moon! They’ll know when you’re there… and most importantly, always remember whose you are! Keep God first in ALL you do and His favor will follow you all the days of your life!

MY Chris, I’m crying, but I’m praising God and giving God all the glory for blessing you with this opportunity to follow His guidance and to continue to walk in His path towards Your dream! Over the next few days and months, I know I’ll continue to cry my eyes out, but I know first that God will forever guide and protect you and direct your path! 18 years ago, I knew this day would come… it’s almost here! Now, I must trust God and let you GO, so you can continue to GROW!

On September 7th when I leave you only for a short while, I pray God’s continued guidance, protection and blessings upon you… in life, the classroom and on and off the court! Continue to walk hand-in-hand with God and know the I too will forever be by your side and your dad is forever watching over you… MY Chris, Be the best YOU, you can be. Let God’s light continue to shine through you… continue to work hard, listen and learn and be EXTRAordinary and EXTRAordinary blessings will flow abundantly your way! Always reach for the stars. There a millions above and God has a few with YOUR name on them!

MY Chris, know that you have and continue to make US proud. I can’t wait to see what God has in store for you!!!
