Scaife finishes strong during FW Southwest Christian Tournament

To start off the 2015-2016 season is well underway and Chris Scaife continues to improve in many areas on and off the court. With continued improvements, Scaife’ performance during the Fort Worth Southwest Christian Thanksgiving tournament held November 23-24 in Fort Worth, Texas showed just that and gave us a glimpse of what’s to come this season and beyond.
During this tournament, Scaife shot 64% within the 3-point line and as he gets more and more comfortable playing down low; this addition will add more versatility to his overall game. He establishes mismatches and utilizes his height/strength against smaller opponents and his quickness/speed against taller opponents both in and out of the 3-point line.
Scaife had a few breakout games and moments during the tournament: Bishop Lynch vs. Desoto Canterbury, he scored 14 points including a left hand dunk and added 9 points against Cornerstone. A ferocious 2-handed dunk by Scaife sparked Bishop Lynch’s comeback win against FW All Saints in the semi final game. The Friars loss to FW Southwest Christian to finish 2nd place in the tournament.
With a season goal of 14ppg, 5rpg, 4apg, and 3 TO’s or less a game and shooting 35-40% from 3 and 65-70% from the free throw line Scaife is well on his way to accomplishing this goal early in the season and can improve these stats by mid season with persistence and continued hard work on and off the court.
